My
husband and I have two boys, who are now 5 and 4 years of age.
I have always been an avid card maker and dabbled on the
scrapbooking side, since about the early 1990's. I had
scrapbooked our honeymoon and then started a scrapbook for our
oldest. I stress the word "started", I believe it
had been finished up to the point when he was about 3 or 4
months old?! Trying to find the time to scrapbook, make cards,
or for my other passion of counted cross-stitching was almost
impossible. I have learned to incorporate our boys, when I
scrapbook and card make. When I get my crafting supplies, I
give the boys their supplies and some cardstock and they go to
town! They create absolutely beautiful birthday cards for our
family members. Not only do I get to spend time with our boys,
doing something that we all enjoy, but I can get some crafts
done too! It's a win-win situation for all involved. Our boys
have loved looking through the scrapbook pages, seeing
themselves, and recalling the memories they see in the
pictures. It is funny what little minds remember.
Now
to get onto how we became an online retail store: One day, my
boss was telling me about how his wife was scrapbooking their
oldest son's scrapbook. I immediately started ranting
and raving on how he should buy his wife this Cricut die cut
machine, that I had seen the infomercial on (at 4:00A). A few
weeks went by and he came up to ask if someone could get these
Cricut machines at this storefront he drove by? I had to
inform him that the store he drove by was the
"Cricket" cell phone store, not a Cricut retail
store . . . but hey, he did listen! :o) Little did I know that
a few months later he would give me the best gift ever,
for Administrative Professionals Day, my very own Cricut
machine! What a wonderful gift, huh?
I
can't believe how easy the Cricut is to use and how my cards
and scrapbook pages look so much better. The portability of
the Cricut machine is so convenient; you can take it with you
to scrapbook social weekends, to a friends home, or even with
you on vacation! If you have access to an electrical outlet,
you're set! I am absolutely a forever Cricut fan! Who would
have believed that my boss' gift would have changed my life so
much?!
With
all the die cuts, punches, embellishments, and paper
products available, there isn't anything you can't do! It
doesn't matter if you've been scrapbooking for years or a
novice, you can do it and it'll look great! What counts is
that #1 - you took the time to do it and #2 - it came from
the heart!
